ADprem Portal-Sphere® Servers can be implemented as high-reliability processing platforms for critical applications. Here are some examples of deployable cross-industry solutions.

Video Intelligence / Visual Surveillance
Visual analytics makes video more intelligent through real-time software analysis of the image. With consistent, real-time identification of object types in the camera field, visual intelligence can discern what activities represent no threat, a potential threat, or an immediately actionable event. Alarm notification is sent to the appropriate human resource via cell phone or PDA. Human resources are freed from constant viewing of video monitors and are more readily available for rapid response. With the added functionality of forensic analysis of archived video, discovery of relevant and related events over time can be accomplished in minutes rather than hours or days. Portal-Sphere® Visual Intelligence servers deliver a compact, high reliability solution for video surveillance.

Video Monitoring of Production Processes
Making visual intelligence a part of production processes creates a level of automated oversight that can … just as in surveillance… determine when there is an activity that represents a pending quality problem or interruption in the production process. Whether monitoring human interaction or materials handling, visual intelligence can provide immediate real-time notification of problems as they occur. Portal-Sphere® video production monitoring can be a vital part of production information.

Audio Monitoring / Audio intelligence
Careful placement of audio transducers on production equipment can provide early warning of potential problems. When integrated with electronic sensors such as temperature, voltage, speed, rate of flow, etc, audio monitoring can enhance real-time process reporting. Portal-Sphere® audio server applications provide specific frequency analysis on each audio channel, triggering alarms when thresholds are exceeded.

Access Control – Authorized Personnel Only
With managed 10/100/1000 Ethernet switches and multiple levels of available performance processor blades, the Portal-Sphere® Server can provide the computing platform necessary to drive a wide array of access control systems. ADprem’s Portal-Sphere® Servers make the integration of video, smart cards, biometrics and building information systems easier to implement.

Smart Card Systems
Smart chip cards are integral to a successful access control system. Rapid advances in card technology are being driven by FIPS 201 standards for government personnel identification. These cards may be incorporated with photo identification and biometrics for use with fingerprint, thumbprint, palmprint or iris encryption entry. Portal-Sphere® Servers are ideal platforms to implement the data systems that integrate smart cards into the enterprise.

VoIP PBX – Voice over Internet Protocol
A full VoIP PBX for the corporate campus and remote locations can be implemented in a Portal-Sphere® server. A feature-rich VoIP PBX can be implemented for substantially less than the cost of a new stand-alone PBX. With connectivity to both traditional trunk lines and to the Internet, this PBX can do effective least-cost routing for all business communications. Full voice-mail and follow-me features place this VoIP PBX system at the leading edge of office communications technology. VoIP PBX systems currently recommended are Asterisk (open-source) and Pingtel, a full-featured, enterprise-class VoIP PBX, both running under Linux.

Building Integration System (by Bosch)
The Bosch Building Integration System (BIS) allows an enterprise to maximize the benefit of currently installed Bosch Security Systems subsystems and integrate products smoothly from other manufacturers through the single user interface. Because BIS is an open, non-proprietary system, it serves as the hub for all vital building and enterprise management functions. This allows views of view separate, isolated applications within a common, flexible interface that is customized to show specific information requirements and status. BIS may also be configured with remote workstations sharing system monitor and control tasks, if required. Further, combining all application information and data elements into a unified database provides more information for operation and automatic data transfer between and among intrusion, access and video management systems. (Note: Bosch BIS is noted here for descriptive purposes and is one of a number of systems that can be implemented in the Portal-Sphere® Server family)

Process Automation
All servers in the Portal-Sphere® family are capable of housing, managing and integrating a variety of the major automation protocols, including CanBus, DeviceNet, Foundation Fieldbus, InterBus, LonWorks and Profibus. All industrial control cabling topologies are supported, through and including ProfiNet.

TotalControltm ADprem’s Unique Equipment Management Software
Unique to the Portal-Sphere® Server family is ADprem's exclusive TotalControlsm management software that provides continuous monitoring of the health of critical components of the Portal-Sphere® Server. Temperatures, voltages, current draws, fan speeds, etc. are monitored many times per second and compared to safe min/max thresholds. TotalControlsm software is designed to send appropriate alarm notifications if any high or low threshold is exceeded.
