Support and Fees

Pract-Eze Dental is usually updated approximately every 2 months. Distribution fees are used to improve the software, and support fees are used for equipment and staff related to support. Support is essential, and we provide high-quality telephone support. Even though support is strongly recommended, the software may be purchased separately from a support package. The following options are available:

Full Package
The initial contract is for only six months, and becomes a month-to-month service after that. The cost is $139 per month for the first year, and $99 per month after that. If there are more than 3 dentists at the same location, then each additional dentist costs $19. This includes all software distributions as they are available, and full telephone support. Data conversions are not included in the price. This is the recommended form of support. Using this, you will get the most benefit from your software and will be able to rest easy knowing that we are always there for you.

Software Only
We do allow purchase of the software alone without any support, but this option is not appropriate for most offices because of the very reasonable price of the full package. The software alone without any support is $299 per copy. Each upgrade will also cost $299. You may skip any number of versions, and when you upgrade, your database will be converted to the newest version, and it will still function properly. If you first buy the software only, and then later decide to get full support, you can apply $150 towards that purchase. We have a trial version available in the downloads section. Various versions of the source code will always be available for free. If you are an advanced user and have the ability to compile the code, you will have a fully functional version. Anyone with programming experience is welcome to download the source code and use Pract-Eze Dental, whether or not you purchase the distribution.

Incident Support
If you do not wish to purchase a support package, you can still call for support. Each incident is $3 per minute with a $90 minimum.

E-mail Support
This option is only available to users in foreign countries except Canada. The reason that we have included this option is that there are often language barriers and timezone differences which make telephone support difficult. We will still use the telephone to handle complex issues, but the long distance phone call is not toll-free. The cost for e-mail support plus all software distributions as they are available is $89 per month for a six month contract.

The software is usually distributed by using a code to update over the internet. If you have a slow internet connection, we can send you a CD by regular mail which will arrive in 1 to 3 days, depending on what part of the country you are in. If you need it faster, we can ship it FedEx overnight for an additional $15. FedEx shipments go out every day at 2:00 Pacific time. Our telephone number is toll-free 1-877-686-1248.
